&#039;Dreamgirls&#039; didn&#039;t win because it was a trashy, cliched film with average performances and even worse music.
And &#039;Little Miss Sunshine&#039; was certainly not an &quot;oscar-type&quot; film. BUT &#039;The Departed&#039; certainly was!
&#039;Little Miss Sunshine&#039; was sooooooo much fresher and better than &#039;The Departed&#039;, and the Academy did what it does almost every year (with the exception of &#039;The Return of the King&#039; and several others): it awarded typically American films!</description>
